Kart build! - Florida 4P

Kandi Kart 4P straight from Lowe’s…

I own an off-road company in Florida and build Jeeps / off-road rigs for fun as well, so naturally I was attracted to this kart and the way it was set up, I just wanted to add a few touches. I really had an image in my head about a little Baja style build so… I just went with it!

started with a windshield chop… that was super easy, and threw on a few off-road company decals on there.
Next I did a bumper chop… I like seeing the cool shape of the headlights and overall I thought it was too large and too much stuff going on as for as bumper tubing.
moved on to 2” wheels spacers for a wider stance and move stability
Then I had a tune done by a local person… acceleration and top speed.
After that, the fun really started… went ahead and got rid of the garbage factory lights and went with KC’s for the main light, the Baja lights that are tube mounted and the amber trail lights. at that point I also did the 8 piece rock light kit too. I went ahead and mount the EcoXgear sound bar and auxbeam auxiliary switch panel as well… so I can control each individual function. I popped on a LED whip light in the rear as well. I added Alton’s ultimate USB I. The dash and actually ran the factory USB charger and mounted it in the rear on the bottom support of the arm rest / cup holder the the back passengers have a charge as well.
Also wired in Alton’s switch led backlight so I can actually see the switches at night. I’ve got a 2” reciever hitch as well so I can have a step and/or platform to mount golf bags on the bag utilizing the handrail also. a quick steering wheel change helped a bunch too… black with a little red stitching to match seats. I have a 9” screen mounted on the passenger side the does apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto which syncs up and runs to the sound bar.
All the electronics are wired to a fuse block and also the auxbeam switch module… which is then ram to a battery disconnect… which runs to a marine battery that is hooked up to a charger and able to be plugged in right by the factory charger at the same time.

future plans… I have a 5500 synthetic rope winch rear to be installed when I have some time. I also am still tossing around a new wheel choice.

Oh my! Those are some extensive mods. Feel free to add some DIY guides on future mods using this site if you want to document it.

Your cart looks sweet by the way!

Whenever I see KC lights I think of the truck from Back to the Future. A classic look!

Hey man, love the build! Did you ever go with a different tire/wheel set up? I’m thinking about upgrading to 26x10-14’s… just wondering about clearance. How did you get it tuned? And what speed did you get it up to?
