So I got in our 2023 Coleman today to go check our mail… yes we have a long drive…
And its down hill the entire way so pulling out of the garage it moved under its own power… at 97% on the dash gauge I figured I was good to go… wrong
After getting to the end of our drive I started to the left to check the mailbox and the cart was making a slight humming noise and wasnt moving hardly at all acted as though it wasnt charged but at this time the gauge says 92%… I tried a couple more times but the cart isnt going anywere !.. now by this time its reading 89% on the dash.
Idk… so walk back to the garage get the tractor and toe strap…
Get it back and plug it in to charge… 20 min later I check on it batteries fully charged indicator light flashing green 100% on the dash… I get in turn ignition Doesnt make a sound…and doesnt go either direction forward or reverse… would appreciate some help in diagnosing the problem. In the mean time looking for the receipt its almost a yr in october…
Oh I Forgot to mention I only have 58.1 miles on it !
I went out this morning and thought let me see the cart has been sittng over night…let me try moving it…It moved slow and no power…I am suspicious of the batteries… im thinkin the batteries are not worth a crap…Later today I will test ea battery…
I can see this Forum doesnt get any traffic… cause some one some were is bound to have some idea whats wrong or point me in the direction to repair it !
The nice thing about EV’s over ICE is that the drive system is easy to troubleshoot with minimal tools. Obviously a multimeter is a requirement.
Follow the voltage. Start with the batteries. Then the potentiometer that is the accelerator pedal. The controller is going to be a bit of a black box, but understanding the input/output wires should be easier enough. If you can find a wiring schematic, even better.
